Sports Performance Camp

Looking to boost your athletic performance this summer? This Sports Performance Camp is designed for athletes in grades 7–9 who want to improve speed, strength, agility, and overall athleticism.

Our program combines plyometrics, strength, speed, and flexibility training with careful attention to proper movement mechanics. Progress is measured through pre- and post-camp screenings to ensure improvements and help prevent injuries, because building strong, efficient athletes starts with safe movement.

Each session focuses on technique, power, and performance so athletes leave faster, stronger, and more confident in their abilities.


We are excited to announce an update to our summer programming!

Our Sports Performance Camp and Middle School Summer Run Club are coming together to create one comprehensive summer experience!

We have had a number of questions around which group is best for your athlete and some of you that would like to do both. Rather than choosing between programs, participants will now have access to both running and sports performance training, creating an even better opportunity to build fitness, confidence, and friendships throughout the summer.

What Does This Mean?

  • More sessions each week

  • Speed, agility, and strength training for all athletes

  • Running, conditioning, and endurance development

  • Injury prevention through proper movement patterns and training 

  • Two weeks of conditioning before Sports Performance Training begins.

  • Access to special events including shoe nights, store discounts, and our Back Cove 5K

  • Opportunities to train alongside and connect with athletes from our High School Run Club

What Makes This Camp Different

Individualized Movement Assessment
Each athlete receives pre- and post-camp screenings to track improvements and identify areas for focused development. Coaches provide real-time feedback during drills to ensure proper form and maximize results.

Camp Schedule & Focus

  • Dates: Wednesdays & Fridays, July 8 – August 14

  • Time: 8:00–9:00 AM

  • Location: Cheverus High School

  • Tuesday Run days @ 4:30pm - as part of the MS run Club

Led by Matt Somma

This camp is led by Matthew Somma, PT, DPT, MTC, CSCS, OCS, a licensed physical therapist and certified strength and conditioning specialist with extensive experience helping athletes move better and perform stronger.

Matthew is:

  • Experienced in sports performance, injury prevention, and functional movement

  • A former Strength and Conditioning Specialist in professional baseball

  • Passionate about helping young athletes improve athleticism safely and effectively

With Matthew’s guidance, athletes gain professional-level coaching, practical feedback, and measurable improvements in just six weeks.
