Shockwave Therapy
Stimulate Healing. Reduce Pain. Recover Stronger.
Focused Shockwave Therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses targeted acoustic waves to stimulate your body's natural healing response. By encouraging tissue repair and improving circulation, it can help reduce pain, improve function, and support recovery from chronic tendon and soft tissue injuries that haven't responded to traditional treatment.
At Finish Strong, shockwave therapy is used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan - not as a standalone solution. When appropriate, it's combined with one-on-one physical therapy to address the root cause of your pain and help you return to the activities you love.
BENEFITS INCLUDE:
Non-invasive treatment with no injections or surgery
Targets deep tissues with precision
Short treatment sessions (typically 5–10 minutes)
Stimulates the body's natural healing process
May reduce pain and improve function
Complements your personalized rehabilitation program
Shockwave therapy can be incorporated into one of our standard 60-minute physical therapy sessions or scheduled as a standalone 30-minute appointment. While every treatment plan is personalized at your evaluation, many patients experience the greatest benefit from a series of 3–6 treatments, depending on their condition, symptoms, and recovery goals.
Your physical therapist will determine if shockwave therapy is appropriate for your injury and, if so, incorporate it into a personalized rehabilitation program that may include strengthening, mobility work, manual therapy, and movement retraining to help you achieve lasting results.
If you've been dealing with persistent tendon or soft tissue pain that hasn't improved with rest or traditional treatment, shockwave therapy may be an effective addition to your care. During your evaluation, we'll determine whether it's the right option for you and create a treatment plan tailored to your goals.
