Samuel LaRiviere, PT, DPT
Sam LaRiviere, PT, DPT, is a licensed physical therapist in the state of Maine and California. He received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Springfield College in 2018. Sam was born and raised in Waterboro, Maine and grew up swimming for the Sanford Titans. As many swimmers do, he found himself at a number of PT sessions for various injuries. During one of these sessions, a sports medicine doctor recommended he look into Springfield College for PT school and swimming and he never looked back. After finishing PT school, he moved to Santa Clara, CA to work in a specialized clinic treating swimmers and building connections with USA Swimming. In 2021, Sam moved back to Maine to pursue his passion of creating a one-stop community for all things triathlon and providing expert care for the aquatic athlete.
Professionally, Sam’s dream and vision is to be a resource to his community for all your endurance, performance, swimming, and triathlon needs. He enjoys working with triathletes and swimmers of all ages. He is a F.I.S.T. certified bike Fitter and skilled at prescription bike fits as well as customization of triathlon and road bikes. He has also worked with running clubs in the greater Boston area performing biomechanical running analysis. In the swimming community, he has created numerous dryland strength and conditioning programs and conducted swim-specific injury prevention screening for various USA swim teams.
He is also a member of the USA Swimming High-Performance Rehabilitation Network providing coverage for national and international level meets for the U.S. National Team. Sam recently completed a rotation at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs working with paraswimming and paratriathlon teams during their training camps. Sam is also a certified USAT Triathlon Coach, UESCA Ultra Running Coach, and USA Swimming Coach. As a former collegiate swimmer, avid cyclist, and aspiring trail runner, he understands the unique challenges posed by these sports and is eager to help you get to your next finish line.
Sam lives in Casco with his wife, Rachel. He is an outdoor enthusiast and competes in both triathlon and trail running events. When Sam isn’t training or working, you can find him hiking, skiing, camping, coaching or exploring with his wife anywhere outdoors.
