Finish Strong Running Groups

Mother’s Day 5k Spring Run Club

The Spring Run Club is designed for runners looking to ramp up their running after winter, fine tune their speed as we head into spring, or a group to stay consistent with their running throughout the year. We will complete a 10 week training program together with a goal of racing The Sea Dogs Mother’s Day 5k. This group is open to beginners and veterans with weekly options to walk/run, run, or participate in a speed focused workout (typically 4-8 miles total distance). The program will take place every Wednesday evening at 5:30pm from March 6th to May 8th. We will also meet for a bonus 2 weekend longer runs during this program.

Finish Strong Summer Run Club

The FSPT Summer Run Club is designed to bring together local high school runner’s looking to improve their running performance, prevent injury, and have the camaraderie of others to train alongside during the summer months. The program will meet 3 sessions each week and is 8 weeks in length. Sessions will include a group run split into abilities, highlight proper warm up and cool down, instruction and performance on strength training and running mechanics, along with heavy emphasis on run specific education, including nutrition, hydration, footwear, mind training, and others. The 8 week training program will take place Mondays and Thursdays at 5:00pm and Saturdays at 8am, from Monday June 17th - Saturday August 17th.

Reach the Beacon 10k Group

The Reach The Beacon 10K (6.2 miles) training program is designed for runners looking to improve their running goals beyond a 5K. All participants are suggested to have completed a 5K (training included) prior to the start of this program, and should expect longer runs from about 3-6 miles. The 10 week training program will take place every Wednesday evening at 5:30pm from May 29th to July 31st.

Fall 5k Running Program

Our Fall 5k Training Group is a two-tiered program for beginners and veteran 5k runners. If it is your first 5k, we will guide you through the journey to cross the finish line with confidence. If you have trained with us before or have already checked the 5k box, we will focus more on intensity and improving your 5k time. This is a 10-week training program and will take place every Wednesday evening, at 5:30pm, starting on September 13th. We will finish strong by racing the Maine Track Club Turkey Trot 5k on Sunday, November 19th.

Winter Run Club

The Winter Run Club is designed for runners looking to maintain a consistent running base during the winter months. We will complete a 9-week training program together and you will have the option to compete in the Mid-Winter Classic 10 Miler or the Robert Burns 10k. It is recommended that all participants have completed a 5k race (training included) or 5 mile run distance prior to the start of this program. The program will take place every Wednesday evening at 5:30pm from December 6th to February 5th. We will also meet for a bonus 2 weekend runs during this program.
